Settefrati is a very small mountain town nestled between the hills Colle della Torre and Colle Ceciuto, built around the intertwining of narrow and steep streets and observing over the centuries the slow transition from pagan beliefs to the Christian world, from the power of the deities of Mount Melfa to the colonization by the Benedictine monks.

You can start your visit of Settefrati from the Church of Madonna delle Grazie, whose frescoes depicting the "vision of the afterlife by Alberico from Settefrati" attract curious visitors and whisper them the timeless historical-identity values you will find along the way.

Leaving the Church, take Via Guglielmo Marconi which, together with Via Roma, Via Colle and Via Venturini, draws a perimeter around the heart of the town, Piazza Venturini. This is the main square characterized by a rough cobblestone pavement and is the point of contact between the Town Hall and the Church of Saint Stephen.

A wide staircase invites you to keep walking and reach the majestic lime tree, a monumental tree, which tells you about the close relationship between nature and the architectural elements of the town. Its crown completely fills the space between the medieval tower, the church of Saint Stephen and the surrounding houses, dominating the square and leaving an important mark in terms of aesthetics and identity.

Built in the majestic and verdant Valley of Canneto, where the aquifers of the river Melfa are located, the minor pontifical basilica of Maria Santissima di Canneto has been the guardian of the ancient lime wood statue of Madonna di Canneto and the history of devotion linked to it: a centuries-old pilgrimage through the mountains that today turns into a travel experience combining sustainability with spirituality and the history of those places with a journey through nature.
